He winked at me in the mirror
My cyanide kiss flashed back
Purple-stained lips bruised
With pain and desire
True love is here
True love is all around you
Whispered my mother in my head
Then why do these relentless
Mirrors wink back at me
Harsh and glittering
Chuckling at my despair
And hinting of the shallow gifts
I am to receive
Having laid my head on a
Platter
And sworn to be Salomé again?
